Meet the Maker
The Boardman started with a simple idea: make cutting boards the right way — by hand, from real hardwood, built to last for years, not months.
Ogi, the maker behind The Boardman, began woodworking with a focus on craftsmanship, precision, and materials that stand the test of time. What started as building boards for friends and family quickly turned into something bigger as more people began asking for boards of their own.
Each board is made by hand through a multi-day process that involves cutting, arranging, food-safe gluing, pressing, sanding, shaping, finishing, and conditioning the wood until it becomes a durable, beautiful piece meant to live in your kitchen for years.
Most things in modern kitchens are made by a machine in under a minute. Our boards take three days and two hands that actually gave a damn.
-
Handcrafted from Premium Hardwoods
Expertly crafted with intention, and without shortcuts — built to serve your family for generations.
-
Built for Your Knives
End-grain construction means your blade slices between wood fibers, not through them. The result? Sharper knives, longer. Self-healing surface that resists deep cuts and scarring.
-
Handcrafted, Never Rushed
Every board takes 3-4 days to complete. No assembly lines, no mass production—just premium hardwoods selected by hand, cut with precision, and finished to perfection.
-
Healthier Than Plastic
Say goodbye to microplastics in your food. Our boards are 100% premium hardwood—naturally antibacterial, durable as hell, and built to become part of your family's story.
Built for Real Kitchens
Some boards get tucked away. Ours stay out because you'll use them every single day.
Every Boardman board is:
- Durable enough to handle whatever your kitchen demands
- Weighted and reliably stable
- Premium hardwood that gets better with age
- Good-looking enough to earn a permanent spot on your counter
A kitchen tool handcrafted to last years, not months.
Why End Grain Matters
End grain construction improves durability while extending the life of your knives.
-
Better for Health
No microplastics leeching into your food, and wood's natural antibacterial properties keep your prep space cleaner
-
Knife-Friendly
Wood fibres stand vertical—so your blade glides between them and stays sharper for longer.
-
Self-Healing
Fibres naturally close back up after each cut, resisting deep grooves and bacteria buildup
-
Built to Last
Exponentially more durable than edge-grain or plastic alternatives
